Today is World Hunger Day – and a chance to make up your mind to do something about the fact that, for approximately 925 million people around the world (almost a third of them in Sub-Saharan Africa), every day is hunger day.

Want to get involved? Here are some ideas…
• The people in need are often right on your doorstep, so Google ‘shelters’ in your area and find out how you can help.
• Most soup kitchens and feeding schemes need of basic items such as bread, milk, eggs, flour, rice and maize.
• Visit http://www.shiloh.org.za/. By getting involved with their Daily Bread project, you can feed someone for just R3 per meal.
