The
new decade has brought many changes to people's lifestyles which had an
inevitable impact on retailers. The rise of plus size models has also taken its
peak giving serious competition to longtime and largest retailer of lingerie in
the United States Victoria's Secret.
Moving
forward the brand has launched a campaign with
high-profile women known for their accomplishments rather than their figures.
According
to FOX News, Victoria's Secret Chief Executive Martin Waters said that the
brand hopes to become a global advocate for "female
empowerment".
"When the world was changing, we were too slow to respond," said Waters. "We needed to stop being about what men want and to be about what women want."
