This Is How ZARA Is Pronounced

Thanks to +Rachel Besser the Fashion Market Editor at +Refinery29 now I know how to pronounce ZARA. I cannot believe I have been pronouncing it incorrectly all this time and not only me but even the most popular fashion Gurus in South Africa.

So according to Rachel, +Refinery29 who are currently in A Coruña, the Spanish retailer Zara is not pronounced “zah-ruh”. Not at all. Not even close.“How the hell do you pronounce Zara correctly, anyway? Luckily, one of the retailer’s communications reps was kind enough to set the record straight for us,” R29 asked. The answer? It’s pronounced “dzah-dah”. Wait, what?

For those of you who like your history, Zara is based in Artexio, Spain, where the dominant dialect is Northern Castilian and Z’s are pronounced as a soft “th” and their R’s more like a hard “d’ sound.
Huh! Who would have thunk it? asked Rachel

This is how I think ZARA is pronounced

Happy 2016!!!

It has been a week since I came back from my week-long camping holiday in Durban North Coast and it is only now that I feel I should share my experience with you guys.

Me and my partner in crime arrived at +Monkey Bay Backpackers Durban Ballito on the 28th of December after a six hour drive from Sunnyside Pretoria.

When we got there, I was so thirsty for a cold beer and all I could smell was the ocean and sea weeds (Awesome),  It was dark already so I took it easy, Had my beer and got some rest.

I prefer camping when  I am staying at Backpackers because it is cheap about R150.00 per night and can stay as long as you can.

The campsite at +Monkey Bay Backpackers Durban Ballito  are up the hill, it is like climbing the mountain and going up there is literally a workout but I enjoyed every moment because most of the time I climbed while drunk.

Had the opportunity to see the Ghost House next to Beach Bums Bar, This house belongs to Gurusamy Veerasmy Naidu, a South African business man and the first Indian to sail on the Queen Elizabeth II, came to Durban in the 1920s, built this house in 1926.
